Peter Case is still being lauded in the press and on radio for his 2007 debut Yep Roc Records effort, the Grammy-nominated Let Us Now Praise Sleepy John (Best Traditional Folk Album of the Year category) which was released the same year that Case had his first book,
As Far As You Can Get Without a Passport (everthemore books) published. The book is the first part of Case's memoirs (which are being published sectionally) and is now deep into its second printing. Featuring an introduction by John Doe, the book received much enthusiastic press alongside the new album in feature articles in Paste, No Depression, and others.
The album received rave reviews in Spin, Uncut, MOJO, USA Today, Los Angeles Times, Paste and many others. NPR featured one of its cuts I'm Gonna Change My Ways as Song of the Day. Earlier this year Case appeared live on XM radio's Mountain Stage as well as the internationally syndicated television and radio program WoodSongs and more recently was featured in a McCabe's Guitar Shop 50th Anniversary show alongside Odetta, Richard Thompson, Chrissie Hynde, Jackson Browne, Los Lobos and many others at UCLA's Royce Hall.
