Amanda McBroom: Chanson

NEW AMANDA MCBROOM CD: “CHANSON: AMANDA MCBROOM SINGS JACQUES BREL”

Los Angeles, California, “Chanson:  Amanda McBroom Sings Jacques Brel,” the stunning eighth CD from critically-acclaimed Jazz/Cabaret vocalist and composer  Amanda McBroom (“The Rose”), was released July 14th by LML Music/Gecko Records. Featuring a stellar cast of musicians including Mark Isham on horns, “Chanson: Amanda McBroom Sings Jacques Brel” is a passionate and stylistically powerful tribute to a man deemed the most important singer-songwriter in France during the sixties’ golden age of popular song. The release of “Chanson” will be accompanied by tour dates throughout the Fall.

Having received accolades from The New York Times, Variety, and The Times Of London “Chanson” is a tour-de-force performance of the genius of Jacques Brel as only Amanda McBroom could render.

A multi-talented singer, composer and actress, Amanda first came to the attention of the music public when Bette Midler's version of her song, “The Rose” hit number one all over the world in 1979. But it was Amanda's performance of her own song on the Golden Globes (she won), Grammy’s (she didn't) and The Tonight Show that launched her career as a singer as well as a songwriter.

Amanda (who lives right here in Ojai) attributes her success to "divine intervention and a lot of caffeine."

Amanda will perform at the California International Theatre Festival in Calabasas on August 23rd.
