Shai Ardebilchi and Dustin Byerley were introduced through a mutual friend and once music was shared, LAW of ONE was formed. Shai grew up in Israel playing drums from the age of 12, and at 26 Shai decided to move across the world to Ojai, California to study Ceremonial Arts and Native American Shamanism. As his passion for hand drumming and percussion grew, Shai worked on a number of projects including a live performance utilizing only natural earth elements as well as regular dance workshops founded on Gabrielle Roth's Five Rhythms philosophy. Shai says, "Yes, I play an instrument, but I see myself more as the instrument for rhythm to come through. The LAW of ONE project has really allowed this process to take place. "

Dustin grew up surrounded by music performance and business. His father, William Aura was named one of the three founding pioneers of Ambient/New Age music along with Brian Eno and also produced at EMI for 18 years. Dustin explains, "Growing up around spiritually influenced music sculpted me in such a profound way. Heartfelt, vulnerable expression was as normal to me as going to the football game with dad is to most of America." As a young man Dustin somewhat rebelled from these peaceful roots and experimented with early electronica, drum and bass, and hard electro metal. He says, "I was searching for a way to express my deep resentment for the way things are in the world. Once I realized my frustration was the divisiveness of people, my whole direction changed."
