Howlin' Woods  is a four-piece band based out of Santa Barbara. Combining elements of classic rock, folk, soul, and R&B, with a dash of funk, trip-hop, and trance thrown in for good measure, HW has been performing steadily in the Santa Barbara area since  2009. While the HW live experience consists mostly of original compositions melded with improvisation, they are not ashamed to pay tribute to some of their greatest influences with cover songs ranging from Nick Drake to DJ Shadow, Grateful Dead to Talking Heads, Nina Simone to Pink Floyd and Otis Redding to Black Sabbath. Look for HW on Ojai Day during the Ojai Day Charity Pub Crawl on October 16th. Organizer Genevieve Dillon says funds raised that day will benefit her 501c3, the Foundation for Collaborative Medicine and Research .  Meanwhile, enjoy Like Stealing, an original from their forthcoming CD.
